Review:
How long without tasting a guitar-hero! I missed it, believe me. The fact is that here we have the first instrumental work of guitarist Steve Senes “De-evolution Of Theory”, recently published by Global Music/DR2.
Steve has many years in the music though his name is totally unknown to the vast majority (has been all his life in constantly rotating live bands without recording anything). Now he has decided to launch a solo and makes taking care of everything on this album: he composed, played, produced, mixed and mastered all of what we hear, it is very, very good!

Steve, go away come-scales typical of 200km / h (even though we began in earnest with the guitar playing after hearing Yngwie with Alcatrazz), prefers to go fine stylist making use of styles like metal / hard rock, funk, blues, fusion …, taking care of every detail surrounding your guitar, heavily emphasizing the great riffs that come with their own (a point many forget guitar-heroes), the most excellent rhythm section or small, but important issues seasoned ornaments.

Opening the work we have the theme “The Swami” according to the letter sound of a hard rocker Joe Satriani with some truly magical when solea interventions, including central / final to subsequent attack baladístico and shredder to see that also can play fast if you like. We turn to the afunkarrada Greaseball “with droplets powerful blues and rhythm guitar. On it, Steve drops beautifully crafted melodic passages arrimarme returning to Satriani or the wonderful Rob Balducci. An excellent cut.
“Ruth” is a composition of several distinct parts, a first in the boss acoustic guitar and that special sound to Craig Chaquico, step back rock ballad with electric guitar super emotional new area in which the two guitars share closing role and offers more guitar rock with emotion to the surface.
With experimental sounds to Mike Oldfield’s fast start metalera “Highball” excellent baqueteo, powerful rhythm guitars and cocky soloists (many times with two guitars).I call attention to the wild and very fast which incurs only the central area, with the mast fuming! “Cop Show” is an entirely funky, very wha-wha and constant horn section accompanying the proposal. Once the guitar sound takes over, will receive a performance very, very fusioneros and soft, but with a faster boot. “Facecheck” is another song with deep aroma satrianero to its core, very flashy and good rhythm guitar.

With spectacular ripped hard blues-rock comes “High & Mighty”, perhaps the most cocky composition in so far this compact, with a roll very eighties Los Angeles, at Warren DeMartini (RATT). Again, with soloists to Satriani but powerful rhythm guitars comes the excellent “Colossus” which, true to its title, features some really powerful riffs. We continue with the exercise of almost medieval “Angel”, a court executed only with guitars (acoustic and electric) plan almost Richie Blackmore, very gently.
“Jam Bomb” also features strong rhythmic guitar and Steve then discharged them tons of melodies to Satriani, in contrast to “Mare Tranquillitatis” we get very Jamaican, playing reggae, blues, rock and fusion completing the work with the gentle “The Afterglow” and that air to Jimmi Hendrix mixed with new age.

“The De-Evolution Theory” will be welcomed by all those who enjoy this kind of material as melodic instrumental Joe Satriani (early years), my dear Gary Hoey, Joel Belsky, Simone Fiorletta, Errorhead, Marco Sfogli or any the other axes listed in the analysis. Steve is not keeping anything and it shows all its splendor to each intervention. Visit their Web sites.
